Help..Same old story.. Got spark, fuel and compression Why....
I know you've been asked many times. I finally got a spark out of this suzuki 125 (it was the spark plug cap). I bypassed the resistor cap and got a pretty blue spark. This bike was sitting outside for years and I am sure there is some corrosion in the intake. but the valve is moving. I have 125lbs of compression. Is that enough to at least get ti to fire?

Having all the requirements to run but not getting it to fire, what would be your next action?

Should I rebuild the top end?

I never had this problem before.

If you got spark and compression then you must not be getting fuel. Did you check to see if fuel is leaving the carburetor? If you spray a bunch of starting fluid into the carb while trying to start it will it at least fire up for a second or so?

If it does then your carb needs to have the jets cleaned out and the float inlet thing could be stuck as well not letting any fuel into the bowl.

    Also check your timing.

    Carb is cleaned

Clean enough to eat off of! There is fuel and starter fluid on the plug. Do you thing the plug still might not be firing hot enough. Could you have a spark but still not be hot enough to fire?

you might have fouled your plug if its that wet. On my turbo vw sand rail the plugs were fouled but still managed to spark if turning over the engine and holding it against the case, I put in new plugs and it would fire right up, so yeah they could be fouled and not getting enough spark.

have you checked the flywheel for rust and made sure the woodruff ket isn't damaged?

had the flywheel off yesterday. cleaned the entire stator plate, connections, and cleaned the flywheel to like new. the key was not worn nor bent. timing I am not sure about. waiting for the manual to come in the mail. I just marked the stator plate before I took it off.

I have two brand new plugs that I am rotating .

    keep the ideas coming pleade....
    thanks everyone !!!

Try pullin the air filter and exhaust off and not using the starting fluid. You may be flooding it or the pipe could be plugged.

I'm with Oscar on this one. You don't need compression fuel and spark. You need compression, a combustible air/fuel mixture (read: proper ratios) and a properly timed spark.

Saying "compression, fuel, spark" oversimplifies to the point that a simple fix can be overlooked.
