    yamaha 175 help!!

I finally took the top end off my yamaha tri. And I didn'y like what I saw. The rings are shot to trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro, you don't need a feeler quage to check them, the piston is kinda scared on one side but the cylinder like really good. The connecting rod moves side to side pretty good but not up and down.

    1. Is the rod suppose to move side to side or not?

I think rod is supposed to have SOME(not alot) of side-to-side play, but no up-and-down play is allowed.

Connecting rod side clearance for the bottom end is 0.014 to 0.022. It's a pretty tight clearance.
