    Talking Thumper ride in AZ

I had a rare sunday off so I called Mike (chevy57harley79) to see if he was up for an afternoon ride at one of the local spots on the west side. We ended up at the Hassayampa river. Turned out to be an awesome little 3 or 4 hour ride.

My 86 on the left and Mike's 85 on the right.

Here I am checking out Mike's 85. It's pretty fresh. Real smooth. And the decompression cable works perfectly. I couldn't believe how easy it was to start. Mine is a bear!

Mike checking out my 86. Can anybody tell me why my headlights are doing that? Both are real dim but one of them is barely even on at all. Makes the trike look drunk.

    More pics in next post.

This was my first ride since Memorial Day. Way too much down time so it was awesome to get out for a while.

Mike giving his opinion on the Steelers.

This guy was giving us a look when we first pulled up like he didn't appreciate us being there. Actually had me a little nervous at first.

This one is for everybody who thinks my trikes never get dirty.

    That's it!

Doug - I think you have a bad connection with your light. They are little devils to figure out sometimes - but ultimately - it is a bad connection somewhere.
RIP - Yamahondaman!! You will never be forgotten!

There are some cool spots here. I hardly ever get to ride them because most of the time everybody just wants to go to the dunes. I love the dunes too but it's a 3-4 hour trip to get there. It's nice to just drive an hour and go to one of these places or a couple hours to go up north in the summer.

Now I really miss AZ, that seceney and riding area is to die for, and those 350X's don't hurt either! Why did I ever take this assignment on the east coast. , we've rode in the same spots. I was stationed out at Luke AFB, rode on the west side, and all over AZ. Hey is Bell road (far westside past grand ave) still off limits? You ever go up to Crown King, or stop at the bar in Cleator!!!! my favorite, I just gotta stop there and get a Mt. Dew.

This area is off Bell way past grand. I think you're talking about the area at Bell and Crozier though (the second pic in my last post was from there about three or four years ago). I heard it's closed down but there's still trails there. Looks like it's still being used so I don't know if it's shut down or not. This place is another 15 minutes west of there.
