    can some1 explain bench shifting to me ?

    on my 85 200s i took it all apart , and i want to make sure it will shift when i put it completely back together . Some1 mentioned i should bench shift it , does that mean put it all back together just don't put fluids in it , or the new gaskets and see if i can shift it ?

    Or do i move the shift drum or ?.....i am lost .

    i am sorry for all the topics lately.

    put your sprocket on and go through the gears by hand as if you were riding,using your other hand to turn the sprocket so it shifts to see if there workin right.
