Not sure what this is? Any ideas?

So I'm still waiting on a picture of it, but the guy said he has a "200s, it has full suspension, a new seat, and it runs. But it needs a gas tank and pull rope" So I don't know when it ran last at all if it doesn't have a tank or pull cord. I asked what year he said '76. Could he have meant '86? And does the 200s have full suspension? originally he just said it was a 200, then said 200s after I emailed and asked him. He lives about an hour and a half away. Wants $150 for it...He said he has one pic on his phone he is sending me but my service isn't great and it hasn't shown up yet. I'll post it when it does. Any ideas? What will a tank put set me back if that is all it needs?

no 200s had suspension, either it could be a 250es or 250sx and he has everything mixed up

edit: oh the 250s dont have pull rope, so you may luck out and find a trike with the rear suspension kit added to it.

The 200s was made from 84-86 so it could be a 1986. They did not come with rear suspension but there were kits to add rear suspension.

I can't think of any Honda trikes that came with a pull starter and rear suspension.

I got some more info from him on it, said he got it 3 years ago, it always ran good, said it has full suspension and triple trees on it, said he had a desert tank (guessing the plastic tank) and he tolled it and it broke. I'm going to go get it on Thursday for $150. For some reason none of his pictures come through. I hope its not just a pile of junk when I get there, but sounds alright.

sounds like a 200x to me, but then with a pull start? not sure, make sure you post a picture when you get it, but for $150, anything that runs, is not going to be too bad

could also be a monstraucity of a 200s with a different front fork and the after market rear suspension.

but I think it is a 200x, he is just not sure of what he has, Now I am very curious

It could be a 200s with an aftermarket suspension kit and an aftermarket front end. It could be an entire aftermarket frame. Buy nobody will know until someone sees a picture. I have a couple suspension frames. They are not the caliber of a 200x, but they are a far cry better than a hardtail frame. If it is an aftermarket weld on suspension kit on a factory frame, then inspect all the welds where the aftermarket kit is welded to the factory frame. Who know who welded the thing together. You want to make sure you have strong welds and no cracks. I hope for you it is an aftermarket suspension frame kitted 200s, it will be way cooler and way rarer than any 200x. It won't have all the suspension travel or the disc brakes of the 200x, but I have always found those suspension kits have much more history and personality than a run of the mill 200x. Either way good luck and post pictures when you get it.

OK, I got it tonight for $100, has seat but no gas tank. Took the gas tank and seat/rear plastics off my neighbors 185s and it all fit on there. We got it started at about 10:30pm, rode up and down the street a couple times, it is loud with that exhaust and my wife got pissed (probably some neighbors too!) So we put it up for the night. Any ideas what it is? Or what mix it is...what fenders would fit, I need to get some and a tank for it....a lot of other stuff too, but that's near the top of the list.

Kinda looks like what some refer to as a "auto x"
either way, looks cool! Kinda freinkensteinish, but way cool!

How did it run? I know you said it was loud, but did it give you a thrill?

That is worth all the money in the world right there my friend, LOL!

that's a 200s/185 with aftermarket suspension kit! (look up the vin# on the neck of the frame)

Good deal for that price. those aftermarket parts are pretty sought after!

Where can I look up the vin # at? I know that the plastics can attach to the seat for this bike because of how the release lever is, I think that would be easiest because a couple of the tabs are gone on the frame. What options for rear fenders would I have that do that. Also, there are no tabs on the front forks to attach any (what are those front forks), what would be best front fender that would be easy to get to work? Yeah it was fun, way smoother ride just in the up and down the street. I'll ride it some more today, go out behind the house in the desert and go for a bit. I'm excited about it!
