correct me if im wrong but i think i remember somebody saying to get rid of the rear sprocket dampners. what would i put inplace of them and what would be the difference? i think i can feel them give when i try to pull a wheelie. does this make sense to anybody or do i just leave the dampners in. dampners are the 4 rubber pieces that the rear sprocket sits in.

Never heard of that? They are most likely worn and need replaced. Check chain adjustment and clutch adjustment as well. Nothing worse than a blown wheelie on a 70 man!!
