    Question Fender fitment?

I may be buying a fender from a 200 yamaha. I was just wondering do all these yamaha tri-moto fenders fit the same? Would I be able to take a 200 fender and put it on my yamaha 225DX? Derek has one that I am buying so I wanted to make sure. Sorry for any spelli g errors I'm doing his from my iPhone.

I believe the 200 and 225 fenders are the same but dont take my word for it. I had one of each a long time ago and I thought they swapped over, but they may not have.

They are different, the 200 fins point in towards the tire

The 225 fins point towards the frame

The 200 looks more rounded, compared to the 225, which is closer to a 90 degree. You can see that in 225dxyamaha's pic also.

As far as fit, maybe someone has done it. I wouldn't put it on for a restore though.

    Front fenders -

The fenders to bolt up but look slightly different, I like the look of the 200 fender a little more then the 225 fender.

    Rear Fenders -

No, not even close. Some 4 moto rear fenders fit the DX, and Yamaha still sells new DX rear fenders (I don't remember what color though).

I measured thw width of the 225 and 200 front fender and they are the same. As far as I could tell they should bolt on the triple.

But if we are talking about the rear fender like thefox made me realize, they aren't the same thing at all. Even the seat is different between the 200 and the 225.

I took my 200 fender off and put it on my 225 (I had to remove them both anyway). It bolted right up, but there's only a 1/8" clearance to the frame with the handlebars straight. When I turned it left or right, it hit the frame before even coming close to the stops.
