    idle help on 200s

my 200s has always started first pull and run really well with lots of power but it can't idle worth anything. i have played with the idle screw and when i get it to idle i give it gas and it takes a long time to get back down to idle, or and when it gets back to idle and runs for a minute or so its starts to slowly die if not given a bit of gas. this week i started it up after sitting for 6 days and it was idleing very fast but still started first pull. any ideas? thanks in advance

If it starts idling really fast when you start it up you could have an air leak at the carb. My 185s sometimes acted like you are describing.

Whenever it takes a long time to come down from idle, its the airscrew or leak. Clean carb and blow out idle jet and adjust back the way it was.Beets

It adjusts how much air/ fuel ratio that is being taken in the carb. I get my idle first and then turn airscrew in and adjust out to the highest rpm. Fine tune idle again. Beets

the needle should be in the center clip also. this is factory setting,s from there you can adjust up or down.
