    my 84R, just got it.

Just picked this up last weekend I also picked up another 83r parts bike that is suppose to have a running motor (dont know yet).

Im needing a back up ride for my oklahoma trip that Im going on next month, thats why I bought it. It seems to run good just needs a little TLC. The rear shock is blown and Im going to have it rebuilt .I race hairscrambles with my yfz and think it would be neat to have a woods trike. Im going to have the frame gussetted and powercoated. Any pointers on the weak spots?? I've found one rusted out hole where the frame rubbed the skid plate.

I want a new pipe, silencer going to try and put on some fat bars and maybe try and modify some large ims or ims like foot pegs.

Thanks, and tell me what you think and feel free to give me some advice.

really nice man id love to have an 84' 250r! That seat you got looks too thick, do you think so? My shock was blown when i got my trike, and i had a dude rebuild it with new seals, and he filled it with nitrogen and oil, and it works great, not a bad job for $60.. somethin for ya to look into

Nice it looks like it has one of those desert seats on it to cushion your arse on long rides.

I think 84' is the best year for 250r's but harder to find parts. 85' for the 350X's. Nice find. Good luck!!! Beets

Yeah the seat does look a little funny but sure is comfortabable. I will probably get a 85-86 fender and seat to go with it later on. Just picked some 400ex hubs today and ordered a PRM skid and rear baja bumper. I have some Douglas beadlocks for the back and will have them painted.

Well got the shock rebuilt, and all the breaks working good. new handlebars and a couple sets of tires and wheels. PRM skid plate and rear bumper.
Seem to run good but really needs a bigger carb, pipe, and some tunning to make it rip like I want it to.

what do you think of the bars?

No I found this one on craigslist got a good deal on it, also I bought another 83R the same day for $100 and it runs!, but is missing some parts.

These are PRM skid plate and grab bar. You can look at their website to see what they have. They make the best skids and bumpers. The skid is .250" thick.

The bars are CR high bend. Bought them off of ebay by east coast atv, these were the cheapest new bars I could find. $40 shipped.
