Define "win" ? ......... as far as more horsepower, suspension travel, handling, and general ergonomics go - the X is a Porsche and the '82 R an Oldsmobile.

the 350x should eat the older R's with no problems in a straight drag. They are just out of date compared to the 350x's.

i have to argue that. A friend of mine has an 85x, immaculate, with 10.5:1 piston, cam, and full cobra exhaust(just rebuilt, maybe 6 hours); and I walked away from him every time we raced this weekend(at least 15-20 times) at the dunes. And he's a good rider. My bike is stock other than +.050 wiseco piston.
