    Question remove hi/lo from 82 200e??

can the hi/lo subtrans be removed from a 200e so that just a regular drive sprocket can be used?

I thought the frame could be dented for the Hi/lo as well? I think someone else got a 200e motor to fit.

Romoving the hi/lo would then require changing the output shaft too, aka a lot of work.

the topend is fine....the only way i know of to replace the cam chain is to split the case. Fox I'll try searching that would be great if it's possible!!! let me know if you can think of any key search words to find it.

you can change the chain by removin the flywheel, heck i have a good used cam chain you can have
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

Yeah you don't have to split the case to change the cam chain. The left cover behind the rotor comes off and the cam chain is right there. You do have to remove the cam so you can drop the chain down but you don't need to remove the whole top end either.
