Have you had any luck getting your trikes to fire up?

So it was nice out today, and I finally found time to give er a go.
So we pushed the 125, poped the clutch and got it running (2nd try, not bad). It runs rough, It smokes, and we keep having to fill the crankcase with oil, could he two be related?.
We checked timing and it's on the first line (what one is it supposed to be on?), and coming from the carb there are like 3-4 tubes that come off of it but go no where.

I also pulled the rear plastics out of the garage for the 175 and started working on them. They were painted by the previous owner, so I took some time and started scraping and sanding it off so I can eventually give them a good paint job.
I'll have progress pics tonight of the fenders.

If you have to keep filling the crankcase with oil you have a bad right side crankseal or possibly the center case isn't sealed properly but more likely its the crankseal. I would replace both crank seals.

Sounds like bad crank seals and as for the carb there should be two breather lines at the top and one line on the front right side of the carb for the oil injection.

[QUOTE=old-yellow;713502]Yeah here's one I seen on ebay even though it says for the 125 and 175, They do not interchange because only a 175 pipe will fit on a 175 engine and only a 125 pipe will fit on a 125 engine, If I was you I would put all my money into the 175 to get it running again.

not sure on all the yt's but i have an 82 125 with an 83 175 pipe on it. i did this swap myself cause the 125 pipe was junk and the 175 was to far gone to try and rebuild. i had to have the flange from the 175 motor and made a short mount for the rear of the pipe.

Heres the pics of the skins. As you can tell I have only started on the one side. But its looks alot better than the rest already.

I'm just ordered the bearings for steering. But if anyone has a choke cable for the 175, brake lever for the right hand side, or a good pull starter, for cheap. Message me up.

Figured the 175 was too far gone to put more time into. Went out and bought another 175, perfect skins, original tool kit under the seat. The tires were bad so I swapped them from my now parts trike. It runs if I push start it, but the compression is at 80lbs, so I'm assuming too low as it doesn't like to stay running.
Tore the top end off (head and cylinder), and it looks like it needs to be machined (not too bad though). Took the top end off my parts trike and its a lot cleaner and the cylinder is in better shape. My new 175 is a 83 and my old one a 82, would all engine parts swap over? It looks like the ports in the cylinder are different.
If they swap over I'll toss it on, check compression, if it's any better I get a gasket kit for it and put it back together.
