So the law doesn't say our kids can not ride, just we can not buy a new one for our kids, right?

Then why would it affect the apparel like the one guy who works in Kawasaki dealer says? The clothes shoul not have anything to do with it.

One more prob, tho I know I will never have this prob, cause everyone in my family is huge. But what about little people? Undersized teenagers? They can't get the right size cause of this law?

Ooh, what if your a dwarf? A TRX90 is perfect for you, you still can't buy one?

I could go on, but won't. Laws suck ass, boooooooooo!!!!!!!!

that's what I want to see with in this new law.

I have not seen anything that verifies what you and many others are saying.. my best take on it is the racing world is saying that if new bikes can NOT be bought new for kids under 13 then the kids can NOT race because the racing world has to follow the federal laws and guidelines as they are written.

In other words you can't have your 12 yr old race on a ,lets say 125cc bike that can still be bought new, but it has a sticker on it that says no riders under 13. That is where the whole "its illegal for young kids to ride" comes from.

correct me if I'm wrong here. and if I am show me where to find the correct answer.

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard! I'm not crazy storing guns and fighting the man, but the government is getting stupid with all this stuff! I was looking to get my 3 year old daughter one to ride. Who are they to tell me what I can allow her to do? 13 years old?!?! I'm pissed! I can tell you we will still go riding and I will not be keeping youngsters from riding, give me a ticket!

Just read this on another site. Just think about the amount of inventory just sitting. Worth nothing.

    Here is a snippett:
"The value of inventories that now cannot be sold is unknown, but it probably exceeds $100 million, by our estimate. Just take 7,500 franchised dealers, many of whom carry, $25,000 worth of inventory at wholesale cost. That runs well into nine figures, and that might be conservative. One dealer I spoke with estimated his inventory of machines at $150,000, and that’s not counting his PG&A."

Does anybody know if this is a federal law or a particular state law.
I am not doubting it's legitamacy, however the fact remains that I beleive this would have been very large news to everyone. I am almost very sure that what will happen is that the so callled law will be lifted, and then will have to be placed on some sort of ballot for all to vote. I mean this is still America right? Just cause we here on 3ww are few compared to all, I am sure that most of us, either own a quad or know quite a few people who own bikes for their kids. If anything, I know the big makers are investing in trying to keep riding places open, I am sure they will start something to lift this.

It just seems like a side affect of a law that was poorly written. It doesn't make sense. Besides, who is anybody to come and tell me my kids can not ride on Private land? Hell, I can even ride with out a helmet on my land if I want to, would be stupid, but I can.

    I think Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki will be in to fight this big time. What a very wrong time to focus on this, when people are loosing their jobs, and now they are taking away stress releivers as well;
I too am getting very pissed.

Sorry, I need to look into this some more before I go on, Thank You for the links guys. And if some one comes across a petition to sign and fight this non sense, please post it up here.

Man< this country is going in the wrong direction, WTF!

I work in the bodyshop at Hinderer Honda. Yesterday I walked across the street to our powerstore and ordered all of the parts that I"ll need to rebuild my atc 70. Nobody said anything about not being able to order my parts, in fact I picked them up today. Is that because it's a threewheeler or because I'm over 50?

i don't know what to tell you, except that's great! I friend of mine went down to honda this past Tues. and was told they can not sell him parts for his sons 4 wheeler. it wasn't even anything that was painted. he needed a top end kit with rings and a piston.. He was told "Sorry, you need to write your congressman"

Heh, I totally agree, but don't break it as you can't get parts I guess!

This is front page at my local dealer: http://www.centralmasspowersports.com/

What about ebay? Will they have to ban those items too?
