200X Swingarm Bolt!!!!!! Ever take one out!!

I have a swingarm bolt that will not budge! Beating it senseless is not working, any ideas???

dude its funny that you just posted this, My buddy and I just removed the one from my 1985 200x about 5 mins ago, it took: a punch, a sledge , and a new swing arm bolt, but now i can take out the bearings!!!!!!! it still had the factory grease, and some water, (i havent taken it through water since i have owned it)

i have cut quite a few of them the esiest way is sawzall the insid e the frame the dust seal and cone are replacable. but if you start beating on the swingerbolt too much you chance missing and makgin huge dents int he frame trus tme i ahve done it. or one time i shattere dmy knee cap when a 5 lb sledge i cut the hendle down to abotu 10 inches glanced but the sawzall method is by far the easiest. pull the motor pullthe shock put the fram on a milk crate and cut it as close to flush to the frame as you can without a press big enough to put the entire trike in and still dont know for shur eif it will budge or not. i havw destroyed frames tryign to them and press them out. cut it and get a new bolt and save your efforts for the re assembely. once the ends are cut of fit will slide right out the back and then the steel sleve thet is coroded to the bolt will come out in one piece with a punch and .

I had to cut mine off my between the frame and swing arm. Then just use a press to push out the parts.

Then buy a new bolt and bearings.. GOOD 2 GO!!

Well guys, I cut the thing out!!! Thanks Brapp, it worked....... I just don't understand one thing. I cut it away just like you said Brapp and once it was cut, the slid right out of the swingarm. The sleeve is nearly welded to the bolt, it has been in there since 85, what can I tell you.

the one I removed, I sat there for 2-4 hours slaming it with a sledge , once it got through the frame it just popped out...

Mine was a bit tough on my 250r (86), I was lucky that it came out at all. At least the 85-86 bolts are plentiful. The 84 and below are IMPOSSIBLE to find. I'd see if you can find a replacement for your 200x, if you can, cut out the old one, if not, keep trying, takes a lot of pounding. I learned my lesson. I pop that b@stard out every spring and grease it now!

You guys are scaring me... I need to replace the swingarm bearings on mine that I picked up in September. Who wants to bet it will be stuck?

its the sleave that seizes to the bolt bot the bolt itself. liek i said the sleave shoudl just slid eout onc eu get the ends cut off . the berings sleave and bolt now bneed to be replaced and use alot of grease when reasembeling. or i ahve chucke dnew bolts up in a lathe and thurned mabey.005 ths off the bolt on the inside between where the berrings will sit. to give it a spit to put the grease and keep it from seizing again. but even just good dose of greas eon everythign before you pu tit togethe rwilldo wonders.

Its fun removing stuff that has been on for 23 years + just like the axel on the 350X i took out to replace the axel bearings! pb blaster some wood, plastic , rubber mallet, 5 pound sledge and some elbow grease 2hours later i got it out!
