    cheap way to refinish rim

    total cost about 10 bucks.i used a 4 1/2 inch wire wheel to get the rust and paint off.cleaned with acetone(finger nail polish remover).like i said cheap way to refinish a rim then primed with etch primer,let dry.then spayed 3 light coats of chrome spay paint.time wise about an hour for two rims.Click image for larger version.

    Looks great. You wouldn't happen to know of a way to strip gold wheels down to aluminum again?

    paint remover

    i always use this,seems to work real good.i usually scratch what im going to strip with 320 sand paper then i spray the striper on and let sit for about 15 mins,sometimes it takes a couple times but it has always worked for meClick image for larger version.

    I read somewhere on the board that people spray oven cleaner on the rim.

    Agreed .. Oven Easy Off takes off the anodizing from the Allum Wheel's

    Its not a one shot done deal it takes some WORK with the oven cleaner.

    LYE will take it off in a hurry. Or take it to a local anodize shop, they strip it in a matter of seconds. THEY GOTS THE STUFF

    Zip strip wood stripper works to strip rim. Paint it on with brush and let her work!

    wear a face mask when using the wire wheel i had a heck of a time when i blew my nose it was black, anything that leaves the rim becomes air born
