200X kick start problem??

I have a 1984 200X that runs good. But all of the sudden when I kickstart it the kickstarter does not spring back to the top it just stays down. The bike still starts but I have to move it back to the original position manualy. Any ideas?

yeah i went throught the same prob with my 350xdo u havea bolt in the kicker? if not the sprin could b broke

Boy I've heard those 200X springs are a biotch, you have to split the cases to get to 'em.

Thats a roger 10-4 there. A Broken Kicker spring on a 83-85 200x is not a easy fix. But as with most moving parts sooner or later they need to be fixed.

ive had to do my buddies 87 200x and my 350x and let me tell u wut thats a pain in the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. if u take trailprotrailpro side cover off buy a new gasket chances r trailprotrailpro gonna neet a new one ne way

the early model 200x's had a recal on the kicker i dont know what just that they had them
