In emergencies does it hurt anything?
Or as a regular thing what happens besides a dirty exhaust?

i had done that a few times with my old xr200 and it just made it smoke, well it ran kinda crappy too bu it ran enough to get it home.

Doesn't hurt a thing. I wouldn't make a habit of dumping it in new 450's. But old tech 4 strokes, i've done it for a long time. My old truck, lawnmower, 250sx, etc have all seen alot of 40-1.
Good... Thanks guys
I'd imagine you'd need a slight rejet if you just wanted to keep one drum of mixed fuel around.
Plus you could smell klotz even on the fourbangers!
i used to do it for break in on new motors for a lil extra librication and i have used it many times but it can lead to mor ecarbon deposits if used alot

Did that a couple of time with the ytm-200e. When we were cutting wood with the trike and we forget to check the fuel level, we just took the chainsaw mix in the trailer and put it into the gas tank. Engine still run strong. Don't remember any smoke or sputtering. Hell we do our mix with a lot of oil in the gas and the chainsaw just smoke on start up.

I was once with my father and the truck ran out of gas so we used the 2 stroke mix we had with us for the chainsaw to get us to a gas station.

HA HA ... Glad you asked ......in a 4-Banger use 1oz per Gallon.....
i use either the Klotz or the Marvel Mystry oil in ALL of my 4-strokes
oil is Compresion... Compresion is Power.. won't hurt Nutt'n , My "07" DR650 Suzi has 8200 miles on it with that Combination....Plug's are cool, etc and it makes people ask .... "what are you running in THAT thing, it fast" ?![]()

I've heard of a few people mixing some of the synthetic 2 stroke oils oils at 200:1 in the new 450's.
Remove all the warning label and let nature take its course
I have run different oils at different mix ratios in many different 4-strokes, and it has not hurt them in any way.
I will say this, though - Briggs and Stratton 5 horse engines smoke very badly if you run them with 20:1 premix and crappy Valvoline oil.
I'm back in the USSR...
NOBODY run's 20:1 anymore .. only in the 80's .. but i did run the Maxima927 in a few Cart's ... 1.5 oz per Gal ... smell's good and makes abit more power while protecting the Valve's

HmmmmmI may have to try a little 2cycle in the 450 for the long, fast, hot Michigan fire trails. Mile after mile pinned
A bit of valve protection makes sense.
