Ok let's hear it. What do you guys soak your carbs in to free them up and get them really clean an for how long? I have used Sea Foam before and am not sure if this is the best way to do this.
Thanks

I've always used just regualer carb cleaner. Soaked it over night. Worked fine. I have a friend that puts the carb in boiling water for a while before soaking it in carb cleaner..etc. I dont see the logic behind the water part but whatever floats your boat I guess.

Like Custom said, I just get the carbcleaner and let it sit in that over night, or for a few hours if I want to do it all that night. Seems to work pretty well, and you can keep it and re use it next time in the big bucket. I just use the big bucket/can from auto zone or checker and set the parts in it. I also use the carbcleaner spray to spray out the jets and stuff as well. Always works for me.

mineral spirits also work, PB blater as well..... it can get a little expensive though you can re use it if you strain it through paint paper funnel and put it in pump spray container....... wd40 etc.......
I've boiled em before, and that works ok, just next time I'll do it outside, LOL.

Yup,, Carb Dip is your best bet. (about $12 for a gallon can at any autoparts store) It will last you forever. it even has a little bucket inside for the small pieces. soak it overnight then spray it out in the morning. that's all you should need.
does the carb dip eat up the seals and everything?

yes, you will need to remove all rubber and plastic parts
I once left a spare 250sx carb in the can for a good month. (forgot about it) all the gaskets and the plastic floats were still there and intact. (it was also the cleanest I ever seen any carb lol) SO I dont think an overnight soak would bother them much. I'd take em out just for piece of mind tho.
I've heard of people using an ultrasonic cleaner, like for jewelry, and the thing comes out like new. I wish I had access to one to try it.
lol brake cleaner with a nozzle, make sure you get the jets..
Be sure to put on eye goggles of SOME KIND when using the spray...stuff will spray back on you before you know it. You don't see a 3 wheeler guy going down the trail with a 'seeing eye' dog very often. First scent of a rabbit and it's all over with.
I've never regret having them on...especially after making the Mrs. mad! on second though you might want to add some body armor.
