Air Cooler R Port Job Pics

Here is a jug from a 83 R with a RPM port job. Was wondering if anyone knew anything about these. It has 2 extra exhaust ports cut into it. The cylinder has been decked not the head and it looks like the sleeve is 2 piece.. Can any one tell me anything about it?

The lowwer end from this has work done to it too.. The crank has full circle halfs and it has been turbo cut also.. It also looks to be coated with some thing too? Can anyone tell me anything about it?

The other jug is also an air cooled jug but been "ported" by P-P?

Is this the stuff that came from the deal your brother got?
The one cylinder has been resleeved with what looks to be a steel sleeve.? What is the bore size of that one? It looks to have had some serious port work done to it .
The other one has been ported but it doesn't look too radical. Nice stuff.

I was realy hoping you or 1upfront would chime in here, seeings how you guys realy know you air cooled r motors inside and out and all the stuff that has been or could be done.. I think they were both 76 or 78 mil cant remember now...

No this is one of the other R motors we have, weve got 6 and a half plus parts.. Were looking to build a couple with some of the more modded stuff for Killer, his sons and my drag bike.. The new one with the L/C head is staying the way it is, just gonna rebuild it. Once its opened ill put up some pics, but weve got 4 motors in front of it to be done first. Yeah the other jug looks like back yard stuff, just put it up there as a referance.. But the RPM looks clean and about as far as they could go as far as removeing material.

You know anything about the black finish thats on it? Did they do a teflon coating? When being sleeved isnt the old sleeve pressed out and the new pressed in, so why does it look to have 2 sleeves? And whats up with the extra exhaust ports, just to compensate for the extra volume coming in? Ive never realy looked into port work and im trying to wrap my brain around it, instead of just seeing it and bolting it together i wanna know whats what and why.. I under stand the ful circle crank and turbo cut.. But why deck the top of the cylinder? It has a few mil taken off so its more then replaining a warp. Why not just deck the head? Ive still got to pull the fly wheel to see if its been cut yet.. This bike came off of a farm with no indication of any work done to it.. It was just a nice clean stock bike, nice tank good fenders.. Had a red lowwer end with a "polished" topend.. It had 22 inch ballon knoobies, stock pipe, and he was running 20 to 1 with synthedic oil.. The guy said nothing about any motor work done to it, i open it up and find all this... Not a bad find for $550..

As far as I know this is how they resleeve at 2stroke cylinder. 1upfront has a resleeved cylinder that he took a picture of and I will post up.The bridge on the intake port could be removed if you want to go a little further but, yes, it is a full blown port job. He has 4 or 5 spare engines also.

Here is a cylinder with the bridge cut out on the intake port. This cylinder is the one that is on his trail R.

As far as the coating goes I am not sure what that could be. It has a triple exhaust port job on it which is rare to see but it really helps them to breathe better.

Nice, like the aux. exhaust ports in there. Is there any welding done on the outside of that cylinder around the exhaust? Wondering if there was enough meat in the stock cylinder. Any chance you could get a port map of that RPM cylinder?

Here's a link showing how a port map is made, only thing they don't mention is marking around where the top edge of the cylinder is aswell, that way you get a full cylinder/port layout.

The air coolers didn't come with a bridged intake port.
