You think maybe they used some crank wheels from some other engine? Looks like they got lead stuffed on the bottom side too.

One up front is using a crank from an oddy 350, and they have full circle crank wheels. Said he had to have the one side machined down to work, I think it was the clutch side was too long due to the CVT clutch.. But the stroke is longer, but I guess you could use the crank wheels on the 250r crank...

I think the lead is what they use to "stuffed and balence" the crank, the full circle wheels are closer to balenced but not totaly balenced, thats when it need to be "stuffed and balenced".. This is all stuff im assuming, i dont know anything for sure..

I know back in the day the talent was there to full circle a crank. It was common. Maybe a lost art now in 2009.

You can use the 350 crank, I think it would have a better bottom end pull and more torque with the correct porting. The clutch side would have to be machined down, like said above its too long the way.

Also the 350 cylinder can be used when you machine down the sleeve by about 4-5mm, then by using the straight finned fl350 head your good to go.

This is info thats stuck in my brain, so not 100% accurate
    Nothing to ride... for now

I haven't seen much lead used for balancing, only got one engine with it, Usually just cork stuffers for volume. Mostly sled engines though.

I've barely even heard about full circling a crank, what all did they do? Weld onto the stock crank then machine it down? Hopefully there's still some old school builders out there.

The crank I'm using in project bigblock is an 1985 250r crank, I thought about using an odyssey crank but their all together too wide and have 4mm less stroke than the 85 250r crank so I went with the 85 250r crank.

I am about to full circle the crank in my 480.. the full circle design is used to reduce windage and crankcase volume.. people could still do it, but the practice is no longer popular because most machines have full circles stock.. Its probably no longer a cost effective mod... After a crank is made into a full circle weight must be added opposite of the crank pin to restore the balance.

i have one of those modified stock cranks, made to a full-circle.

look closely, you can see the welds.

Am I missin something, not one of those pics shows the exhaust side port work. I do see the intake boost ports though. Is that what you guys are referring too?

If you look in the very first pic you can see the exhaust subs above the front transfers.. thats why I wanted to see a pic of the exhaust port

in the very first pic of this thread it appears that the exhaust work on that cylinder needs a lot of improvment to make good power , the sub exhaust ports look super tiny and untouched same with the main ex.port ,the triple exhuast when properly sized will greatly and safely increase ex.area and plenty more than a mono port can .having a sudden drop in pressure generaly makes a good deal of added torque at higher rpms but its over a limited range so typicaly they tend to be peakier . the hondaline300r jug uses an old 70's designed small 250 intake and the dual bridged exhaust is shaped wrong and about 15 degreees off from making decent peak rpms ,atleast they give you plenty of liner and material to work with lol

Here's a pic of the mugen 360 port map I made, the top of the ex port is 36.22mm's from the top of the cyl, the transfers are 51.11 and the overall skirt length is 132.75
