While doing a wheelie bike runs out of gas...

Just like the title says. Everytime I do a long wheelie my bike dies. I think the carb is running out of fuel. Is this a float adjustment? My petcock is at the front of my tank instead of the back like most bikes. I think when I do a wheelie the gas in the tank goes to the back of the tank not allowing any fuel to exit the petcock and starves the carb?

It sounds like the carb is burning up the gas that's in it and it is not getting replenished since your petcock is at the front.

Im thinkin there should be plenty of fuel in the float bowl, unless your doing 1/2 mile wheelies.

Why dont you try this. Start the bike up, turn the petcock off, and see how far you can make it.

The wheelies are about 30-40' then I run out. I think I need a bigger carb bowl, lol.

I had this on TRX250X once, it was a clogged vent hose on the carb. Check them out or try loosen the gas cap and see it that is the prob.

it could be flooding out too. a trike should go a lot further than 30-40' on the gas in the bowl. if its doing a wheelie the float may be staying open too long and flooding the motor out. I would check the overflow and carb vent lines and make sure there not plugged and routed correctly

    Adjust the float
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

somethins wrong if you cant get more that 40 feet without starvation... I have wheelied a couple different machines through all the gears before with no fuel issues.. First off I would check the float level and try raising it some to see if the problem goes away... To check if the fuel tank is a problem you might try removing it and using a small bottle instead for testing purposes..
