Manual just says to remove the master link. No tensioner on these things?

Haha it's easier to ask here. The bearing carrier is the chain tensioner on a 350x. Loosen the 2 allen bolts in the swinger, and turn the carrier which ever way will put slack into the chain. Or just undo the master link.

Also it may be a little sluggish to get the axle out, be careful to not on the threads and mushroom the right side of the axle and it exits the carrier from the left side if you're looking at it from behind the machine...

loosen up the 2 bolts on the back of the swin arm, the bearring carrier is ob-longed so when you turn it, it adjusts the chain.. there is a very good possibility that the carrier might be frozen in the swing arm.. Dousche the hell out of it with some PB

Thank you also. Any advice is welcome. I'm used to working on the Kawie's so this Honda stuff is new to me as far as actually digging in and working on it. Back in the day when i was a teenager, we had a lot of different makes of bikes and trikes but they were new enough that we didn't have to get into them this far as far as maintainence. We just rode them. And if they were falling apart, we didn't have the money to fix them so we sold or traded them to a freind that would fix them. haha.

well if you looked under adjusting the chain you may have been able to figure it out.

just because you have a manual doesnt mean you read it. And if for some reason you did read it, it doesnt mean you can comprehend it, so thats why you're here asking questions

TANKS, your bearing carrier is upside down, thats why you couldnt figure out how to adjust it

    EDIT...

30 seconds into the 250r manual...
look what i found???? yes, its the same as the 350x, as the locknut...

What the hell's your problem? I never did anything to you. I actually thought you were one of the better more respected board members around here until now. Then you troll my help thread with 2 word posts, THEN when you finally do post you accuse of a bunch of you have no clue about. Then you tell me I'm to stupid to comprehend the repair manual. Take your arrogance and condescension elsewhere.

To those of you who took time out to ACTUALLY HELP a fellow triker in need on a *gasp* HELP forum. Thank you. It is greatly appreciated.

, when I first got my X I couldnt even adjust the chain at all, everything was all rusted to hell... That's why I went on ebay and got a new swing arm, axle, bearring carrier, brake rotor and all the anti fade nut set up.. here's a pic of the old swinger

Everything that I have on there now, has been purchased in the last year, except for the caliper.. The only difference is that the carrier is for an 86.. The carrier might be upside down but, I can still adjust the chain with no issues

If your carrier is frozen stuck but you really need to get the chain off quick just pop your front sprocket off.

Thanks for the helpful hint. Luckily mine seemed to be ok. I was able to get the chain off. Now the axle is out and I'm going to tear the bike down, replace most of the bearings, clean it up etc. I'm hoping to get the frame powdercoated then I'd like to buy black fenders for it. The couple around here I've seen in black really look sharp so i think I'll go with the black scheme.

Once you get used to the Honda way of adjusting your rear chain you'll wish the Kawie's had the same set up.
