easy as pie if you have a air gun for the clutch nut.
if not try as penny in the gears, i used a penny on my lathe to loosen the nuts that hold the gears on.

are you talking about the one that is susposed to used the spanner wrench??? and penny???? i dont get it how would you use a penny
you jam the penny between where the gears mesh to keep them from spinning. That way you can put tension on the nut that holds the basket without the motor turning over. the copper penny won't damage the teeth on the gear.

I guess so, I've only ever done clutches on motors with pull starts, so i've always just put a bar through the cage on the flywheel. Neat trick though, like it![]()

I've welded a 9 in. handle on an old steel clutch plate and used it to hold the basket whilst loosening nut, easy access for impact thru clutch plate. Beets

I just put a few inches of cotton rop down the spark plug hole to keep it from turning over, but a penny sound easier.
