It wasn't a new motor, it was an 86 motor in very good shape that runs well and seems super tight. But, it had a bad clutch.

Stock Honda lasted mine 22 years and still didn't slip, I changed to a complete Barnett unit (it was cheap) this year and almost offered my old one to Roy. But, we need to quit dickin around with this thing.......

Nonetheless, he will have a OEM complete clutch within a couple hours

That is DEFINITELY the downfall of the OEM clutch....70 bucks for just fibers at the stealership....

You should post up pics and a step by step guide for redoing it...including the position of that stupid kicker gear thing!

It'd certainly do quite well in the world class help section...I know I'd read it!

Goat, those kicker gears are soooooo easy, that guys would punch themselves in the face if they how how easy they are

I have a 400EX out there too, did the clutch last night. He had another guy put in a "DP" clutch last week and it lasted one day

AND the clown put the reverse shaft in backwards too so you could go from 1st to reverse rolling forwards - NOT GOOD!!

All I have to say is, DC you are the MAN!! What a difference, absolutely night and day. If any of you guys wanted to have Steve do some work for you, I recommend him "BIG TIME". His quality of work is second to none

I'll tell ya what, It's nice to "FINALLY" have a nice, quiet, tight, non-smoking, plenty of power engine for a change
