175 tri moto engine question

what is the part of the engine on the rt. hand side with the small black cover and two tubes coming off of it? there is nothing behind it but a deep hole. when i took the cover off, about 1/4 cup of old gas came out.

Also. I think this engine has been outside for a long time. I have it running but was affraid to run it at any length figuring it was full of grime. besides cracking the case, is there a way to flush it out?

That's the oil injection pump, most guys get rid of it & premix their gas.

that was the cover to the right. i disabled the pump last night. iti is the cover to the left in the picture that i am wondering about.

Wait a minute, I think the oil pump is up front on that side. I'm not quite sure what that is, mine didn't have it when I got it.

i think they are the gastank pressure pump tubes?
injector lines are on the right hand side ,front of the motor with the 2 little tubes
you can look all the parts up on microfiche , maybe bike bandit, or cycle parts nation
they will say what they are, im going to look for my self lol

ok it doesnt say on there , i dont have mine in front of me either, and havent worked on it sorry
its there for something though lol

That cover to the left is a gas overflow chamber, you can clean it out by taking the three screws out and just cleaning it out other than that don't worry about it.
