    250R adjustable timing plate ??

My counter balancer bearing holder had one of the ears cracked on it so it needed replacing, I noticed that RPM has a holder that allows the timing to be adjusted -5* to +7* http://www.team-rpm.com/honda_trx_250r_parts.htm . This seems to be a good mod to the banshee / Blaster crowd and can net a couple hp increase at +4*. Has anyone got one of these bearing holders and have you played with the timing ? If I've got to replace it why not go with an upgrade ?

    Ross.

Ross, i believe that ESR makes them as well. The cast oem holder is known for failing. The billet holders are sweet....... and rugged. But i don't think they have adjustable timing marks. Don't know if an adjustable plate is really necessary with a stock based engine with conservative port timings. Stock cdi's have advance built into them at elevated rpm. But stock porting resists sustained high rpm by design.
