I had quit and started up again. But as for cutting back I can suggest a few things that work for me.

    1. No smoking in the house. Was easy for us, we didn't want to smoke around the kids.

    2. No smoking in your car, truck, van etc.... Once again kids.

    3. When u go out to have a smoke or in the garage to work on bike, car whatever, take one. Make it a pain in the butt to have to get cleaned up and go back in the house to get one.

    4. Bubble gum!!!

    5. Wait until after you have had you morning grub job before u have a smoke.

    6. Try skipping that last one before u turn it at night.

Good luck, these tricks are working for me.

I am at 5 days without a smoke, i take that back. Saturday i smoked a cig. But that was it. It is starting to get better but i cant stop eating. Yesterday i went to the breakfast buffet, after church i had a huge slab of ribs, okra, fries.... Then i ate 2 dinners. One at 5:00 and another at 8:00. I am going to be fat.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Calling an illegal alien an undocumented immigrant is the same as calling a drug dealer an unlicensed pharmacist.

I spoke with a guy on a job site and he was sharing his theory with me, I don't smoke anyhow aside form a once in awhile 4:20, which to me is amazing because when I was young I couldn't imagine life without weed now that I'm older it makes me tired and paranoid and I couldn't care less about.

Anyhow, he told me that he felt the biggest issue was the though that you could NEVER EVER smoke again, he felt that already sets people up for failure. He told me he got the nicorette gum and still allowed himself a smoke once a day. They he cut it down to every couple days and then about one a week he'd have a smoke.

He said it works for him. He also said the gum is NOT cheap so he doesn't use it to replace a cigarette every time he wants one, he's slowly weening off of the gum as he goes. It had been a few months when I talked to him and what he said made sense.

It's tough to stomach the word "NEVER" but not so bad if you can have some self control and enjoy a smoke once in awhile. It may not work for everyone, but I thought I'd share it with you smokers......

I've been smoking since I was 8, & was diagnosed with COPD(congestive obstructive pulmonary disease, AKA pre emphysema). I use the nic lozenges, they help, but ya gotta have will power. What makes it really hard is drinking beer, so I'm pretty much going to have to give that up, at least for a good while.
