We just got my dads 84 big red, that has sat for about 6 years running the other night. Its runnign good smokes a little bit, but the only problem is the neutral light wont come on when you first turn the key on, once the bike has been running for about 10-20 minuets it will work again. any ideas on what could be wrong, or were to start looking???

Not sure if the reds are the same as the SX's but check down behind that little plate near the foot peg. sometimes mud or crap gets in there and knocks loose/corrodes the neutral and reverse connections. At least thats where I would start... or ya got a loose wire somewheres.
