Honda manual vs Clymer manual? (250R)

Hey guys I read through the Honda manual and its pretty good but I think leaves a lot to be desired for a nooby beginner who needs more step-by-step type instructions and more detailed pictures. Does the Clymer manual fit this bill?

Yes. It's intended for the weekend garage mechanic. It's best to have them both because at times one or the other will leave you with a question and most of the time checking the other manual answers it.

Both are good, depending on how much wrenching you do. If you are not afraid to do complete rebuild, the shop manual is the bible, but the Clymer is alot like Cliff notes

Yes some of the honda manuals are worthless, like the atc 70 one. Its best to have both if you can help it and if you arent the best mechanic. That way you have it covered.

Hmm, I was hoping it would be kind of the opposite. I'm looking for something that will be a detailed step-by-step on how to do everything. The Honda manual does this to a point, but I think more in a way for intermediate to pro level as opposed to doing for a total noob. The other problem with the shop manual I have (PDF that was printed out) is the pictures aren't as big or as clear and detailed as I'd need. Certain things I can't see that well....likely because it's from a printed out PDF file...

What do you recommend in place of the Honda manual for the 70? I have a 70 I am going to get into this summer and I also have the manual but noticed it doesn't appear to be as good as some of my other Honda manuals.

I like to have both myself. Whats missing in one is usually/hopefully in the other...

Odd though that some stuff never gets covered. Try to find any info on the oil metering or oil orifices within the 4 strokes and there is NOTHING. They are designed to meter the oil flow properly to a certain area, and you can't leave it out or something else will suffer a lack of oil. I was just concerned about the direction they get installed and I couldn't find any info or pictures anywhere,

You can use a combination of the Haynes: http://www.mediafire.com/file/dmijww...nes_Manual.pdf

and I believe this one is Clymer: http://www.mediafire.com/file/yq0mht...mer_Manual.pdf
