Please confirm 200X top end on ATC200...

I have heard lots of talk about it in the past - but just got done doing multiple searches and can not find anyone who has actually followed thru with it.

Has anyone out there installed a 200X top end on an ATC200 s/e/es/m????

I am looking for pictures and ride reports. Just how much better does it run?

Also - how hard would it be on the pull start mechanism with a 200X yop with a 12:1 high dome piston?

    Experiences ?? Anyone??

very common and bolts right on. no biggie. the 185 and 200 cc stuff was interchangeable on the top ends. remember though there is no decompressoin lever on a 200x head, so you lose easier starting ability.

you not really going to gain much off a 200x head and jug itself. use the cam and pisotn and you'll have pretty much the same thing except get to keep your decompression stuff for easier pull starting.

i've done this to a 200es,200x topend with a wiseco 10:25:1.your gonna break ropes very easy.i get about 20 pulls out of the biggest rope that will fit the pull start recoil.with the 200x fins being bigger your gonna have to bend the down tube or slightly grind off some of the fins so that the starter will fit right.

why not go with a small steel cable for the recoil then... I remember a 1974 Polaris colt sled I had used a steel cable instead of nylon. Just a thought

guys for pullstart rope there are two easy fixes...

    parachute chord... cheap
    synthetic winch line... better

either one and your shoulder should snap before the line breaks.

tim if you need a 200x cam I've got one I think.
