tore open my 86 tecate motor this afternoon... i had a slipping kickstar shaft. i noticed my side case say KX250... do the stock tecate cases say that ? or is this a kx side casing, or a whole kx motor ?
how can i tell ?

they all say kx250. they only way to tell is some of the internal gearing is different.

On 2 different motors this happened when the water pump seal went bad and the oil was becoming thick because of contamination.
Anyone know the gearing difference off the crank between the KX250 and Tecate motors?
