1974 Suzuki TS 125, from slow as hell to the fastest thing I've rode.

I might trade my 82 Big Red for a pair of suzuki dirtbike.
    The bike are a 1974 Suzuki ts 125 amd a 1972 Suzuki TC 4 speed hi/low.
Anyone got any info for these bikes? Are they real turd or OK bike?

Nice thing about the TS's is that there are a TON of parts out there. I dont know what the value of your red is, but those bikes arent worth much (I dont know much about the TC's). I just sold a TS that was in great shape (needed some fine tuning) for $250.
If your trike is only worth 5-600 bucks, I say grab away!

I tried to sell my Big Red for 500$ and no one made me an reasonable offer. I have 400$ invested in the Big Red. I know they are not $1000 machine. The guys ask $325 for the bikes. Lets say they are worth that I'm losing money but I think it would be fun to repair and play with these little bikes. The guys will bring the bikes thurday at my house. Will see if he accept to do the trade.
Thank you for your help ProCarbine.

We did the trade monday night. So now I'm a Suzuki bike owner. To bad they were not Yamaha. The TS has 100 psi of compression but it run and all gears shift. This is the first time I ride something with a hand clutch (except one short ride on TRX400EX). The issue with the parts bike is that the kicker slip, but the guys told me it hae more compression. So maybe I'll swap the top end. Thing is that with these bike on can not get rid of the oil injection system. There are lines going directly to the crank bearing.

I had a TS 185 for a few years. It was one of my all time favorites. It hugged the trails like no one elses buissiuiss. I am not sure about the oil line on the 125. I know the 185 i disconnected it and ran premix, i dont see why you can wit hthe 125. Oil will still get to the bearing.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It is my first 2 strokes, except the chainsaw, and as long has it smoke I'm happy. If it stop smoking I'll be worried. But I might add a little bit of premix in the gas tank.

For now it's fun to ride in the driveway. I'm gonna do a compression test on the TC to see if it has more compression. If so I'm gonna try to repair the kick start slipping problem and put the engine in the TS frame.

    UPDATE!!!
I just removed the baffle in the silencer, sure enough it was full of old oil build-up and crap..., removed it completely, put the tail pipe back on the silencer and now it is a real beast. Can't believe how fast this bike is. With the baffle on it wasn't able to wheelie in 1st gear and now the front end will lift in shifting secong gear. Just rode it for 2 min and I still hae a smile on my face.
