my first project/ restoration project.

here we have a yamaha tri zinger i picked up it had a siezed engine a lot of surface rust and needs new tyres allround, i have managed to un seize it but the piston is knackered and the bore seems ok. and i need a pull start. the problem i have is im from england and i cant find any stores or online shops that stocks the trizinger parts,

any way so far i have cleaned the engine since the photo and cleaned the frame
i have remover the oil pump, and just asking if there are anymore mods i can add to make it a bit more fun , by the way this is for me and not a young child lol so i want POWER !!!!!!!!!!!

welcome to 3ww.looks good so far.you picked a good project. parts will be hard to find but will be cool when done.

The only hard parts to find are the front fender and the front lower suspension pieces. There are lots of mods. Do a search to trizinger mods or yt60 mods at the top of the page. There is lots of good info on here. But not alot of need to repeat it. You can get that engine cleaner than that though. LOL Some people on here have their engine cases polished. When you say you are going to do a restore, I hope you are ready to get serious. There are a few people here that have done restorations better than original. Otherwise, your pretty much just doing a refresh. I know, picky about the words, but it takes alot to do a real restoration, and only a few on here have done it. Many people redo their trikes, but very few in my opinion are worthy of calling it a restore, and there are some very meticiously redone trikes here, believe me. Welcome to the boards. Good luck with your refresh. Feel free to pm most members on here, they can be very helpful. Do alot of searching with the "search" feature towards the top of the page. It will be very helpful to you and there is a ton of info on here too. Keep us posted on your progress.

ok its a refresh lol i was thinking doing an engine swap iv seen a yt60 modded with a cr80 i think i might do somthin like that so here in the uk i cant even find a pull start for it, i need some ideas guys !!!!!!!

Have you tried bikebandit.com or servicehonda.com? Both good places with parts at discount prices. Or you may try contacting a board member on here, petesatc. He is over your way and has a large parts inventory and may be able to help point you in the right direction overseas. You may be able to contact a board member on this side of the pond who could take your prepaid postal money orders and get your parts for you and ship them to you, providing you pay up front of course. Try contacting petesatc though. A great guy. He's busy alot though so be patient. He has some really cool parts and connections. Be patient, all is not lost. You are just getting into the good stuff. And you'll probably find 5 more projects before this one is through. That front fender will be a chore to find a decent used one though. The onlly real restoration of a trizinger that I know of had to use a fiberglass front fender. Also the colors of the zinger were, red, yellow, blue and I believe in canada or overseas- white. Beware, Shipping may run you as much or more than the parts themselves. Of course the biggest part is the rear fenders.

thanx very much i will try pete and im lucky i guess the front fender is in a1 condition when i removed it and the rear just needs a good scrub up, out the engine bk on the trike today and wired it all up just one problen i have no gas in the garage so will wait till tomorrow and let u all know how it goes, oh and on other projects im making a custom petrol scooter with a mini moto engine
