What is new in the world of impacts?

I want to get a couple of new impacts when I get home, but I have been out of that world for so long I do not know what kind of new models are out there. I used an Ingersoll that I really liked not too long ago, but I am not fond of plastic casing. I do not really want to drop Snap On kind of money, but I do not want cheap ones either. I need a new ½ inch and a new ¾ inch. Any ideas?

Also the Mac Ingersoll AW434M is a real good gun. Always has been. Heavy, metal, loud and powerful. $249.99 Plus shipping.

Aircat and Ingersoll both make 3/4 guns also. They's spensive.

Those are nice. I did not think of the weight factor. It would be nice to have something that will not wear me out from holding it. Yes, I am that out of shape.

    YESSSSS.
    Get the IR 434.
I've run mine daily for over 10 years.Still going strong.
Always the strongest 1/2 impact at any shop I have worked at.
If it dont take it off...It breaks it off.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

Yepers. It IS the most reliable impact on the market today. I have the original Mac version. The AW234 and it's over ten years old. It will take the lugs off the Mac truck. Steer clear of teh Snap-off. I have not heard very many good stories about them and they're overpriced.

x'2 on the Strap on gun.
That Orange thing they had was weak compared to the IR 434 at almost 2 times the cost.

There is no way in any kind of hell I will spend $800 on an impact. So far that Mac sounds good.

I cannot help it if it shrinks from not being used.

I've liked the Mac impacts I've used. They seem to be pretty fairly priced too.

I own 1/2 and 3/8 IR impacts. I forget the models #'s but both have metal bodies. The 1/2 is older, the 3/8 I got around '05. The 3/8 is awesome for smaller nuts and bolts and is light; very good purchase. I bought mine from the local IR store, they were very helpful, and reminded me they had rebuild and parts available.

Always has good luck with the Campbell-Hausfeld (spelling) products. we have a 1/2 impact more than 10 years old and a 3/4 we bought a couple of year ago. May I suggest you invest in a high quality set of socket.

I have some of their tools but they have been sitting on a shelf and never used.

This is the one I am thinking about getting.
