    Question 85 200x rebuild

i plan on rebuilding the motor in my 200x because it started smoking like a banshee. i know i need the obvious:

    piston rings
    gasket kit
    exhaust and intake valves
    cam chain, sprocket, and tensioner

am i missing anything?!?!?!?!? i dont want to have my motor all apart and realize that i need something else and have to wait for that part to come in

I'd get new valve guides as well, and depending on the condition of the cylinder, you may need a piston and have it bored, as well. I actually found a guy on ebay that will do all the machine work for you on the head and the cylinder, as well as provide the parts for a very good deal, just barely more than the parts themselves through dennis kirk. Probably what I'm going to be doing in a couple of weeks.

If anybody out there has used this service before, I'd like to hear feedback as well!

Anybody that designs something that they say is completely idiot proof, fails to realize the resourcefulness of a complete idiot.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair.
