    86 200x rear axel

I'm so angry with life right now.

I was going to fishing hole down the street from me and the path that leads to it and some one rolled a big rock slightly into it. I was going just fast enough that when I clipped it with the back tire by accident, the axel bent.

How much of a pain in the 2%$^ am I in for finding an 86 axel, and will another year work?

If you can't fix it with a , its an electrical problem.

Well it sure did ruin fishing for me.

I'm going to have a sandwich, get drunk and cry a little, maybe kick the dog.

Give the dog the sandwich, get drunk and kick yourself

A few guys have said an 85 200X will work just fine in an 86 carrier. Which means an 82 250R axle should also fit.

Only issue I see is the amount of sprocket teeth changing and requiring a custom sprocket IF you had to have a certain gearing.

No worries, I don't care how mad, drunk or heartless I'm feeling, I can't kick that.

But theres no way in hell he's going to get my sandwich.

Cool dog Look into the 85 axle, they're allot easier to find.

To use the R axle you need to grind alittle of the adjustment side of the carrier. The 83-85 X slides right in but you need the sprocket w/hub and brake rotor w/hub.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

Take it off, stick it in your trailer hitch box, and jump up and down on it until it is straight. (From experience, ask KASEY)

I just had 2 axles fixed at my local machine shop. $30 each and they are both within factory specs. I would go that route....even if you find a good used one, they can be $30+ just for shipping depending on location..
    Don't worry...just run watcha brung...

I called one of the local shops around here (Cyclemotion Middletown NY) and they want $75 and thats with me taking it out.

There is another shop around here I'll be damn sure calling Tuesday, $75 is bull@#$^.

If they're not any cheaper, I'll be out there with a torch and a .

If that doesn't work.......Well why the hell wouldn't it work!

hey, gotta say thx for that advice. worked great on my 86 200x. its not perfect but waaaay better than it was. I may work on it a bit more but 5 min in the hitch and its good enough, no more wobble on pavement with flat trackers on so woohoo. Oh the best part was I didnt even have to take the axle out, just one tire
