Is this carb too big for my mods?

Since I'm rebuilding my motor, and apparently my cam is bad because the bearing on the end won't pull off. I'll be upgrading to a bigger cam and probably valve springs and retainers, along with a UNI filter and DG Krome Power exhaust.

This is a 28mm carb. Is it too big?

Somone mentioned in the classifieds section to purchase a 27.7mm carb from PRO-FLO.com Any opinions?

I have the similar/same setup on my 85. The only problem is that with the 28mm Flatslide is that I had to dent/dimple the side frame tube to clear the carb...

But, no it is not too big.

HI CURTIS, I was wondering what type of torch you used to dimple the frame? How hot? How did you make the dimple? Also what intake boot did you use? Thanks.

Sam, I used an acetalyne torch and the ball peen end of a . The airbox boot is the stocker that the I.D. was carefully cut out larger to fit the carb intake bell. It doesn't have that reducer looking part on the ebay one.
