Well,,,,,,
The YT 175 is 2 stroke (no timing chain).
The YTM 200 is 4 stroke and has a timing chain. it is not too bad to do, you can take the pull starter off, stator, flywheel, and engine cover off. Then take the cam cover and sprocket off and pull the new chain up through the top end.

so there is no timing chain? Do you think the guy ment the drive chain or what?

Maybe you should go look at the trike. If it is a drive chain, you have to remove some parts, but it's not too hateful. If it is a ytm200 and it is a timing chain issue, it will be alot more involved. Not impossible, just way more involved. You would need a service manual and a decent set of metric tools at the bare minimum. Also some prior mechanical experience would be a big help. It's not that easy of a job for someone without a fair amount of wrench turning experience.

A YT175 is 2 stroke but I would not say it is a "racer" type.

How fast are YT175's? How many gears do they have?

Yeah the 175 is more of a sport trike, but i've always wanted one to mod into a racer. Since its a 2 stroke its easy to modify the hell out of it. Port it out, raise compression, bigger carb, better expansion pipe...etc
Three Air R's
They are a 5 speed with the auto clutch, just like your 225 dx. The 175 may have faster acceleration than the DX, but the DX will likely get it in the long run. The DX has much better suspension up front, and the 175 does not have any rear suspension from the factory. Top speed for a stock 175 is right aroung 55 or os................
