So are these motors considered a "rear clutch" motor?

So if I understand this right, a "front clutch" motor has the clutch assy on the front right side of the case that moves "up" towards the tank and a "rear clutch" motor has the clutch assy on the top right of the case which moves to the rear of the motor? Does that sound right? Just want to make sure I understand this correctly. Why is a "rear clutch" motor prefered over the "front clutch" motor? Also with the motor I listed above, does it look like it has the option to run a oil cooler if I want to install one down the road? Thanks!

The 140 you have has the fittings you need you can see the rubber line buy the spark plug [two bolt heads and a 1 inch rubber line], most of the time a rear clutch motor the clutch is not on the crank itself and they tend to run a bit better, the arm is in the back of the case and pulls toward the head , you can get a cam cover for about any motor from Dr atv if you want to add a cooler later
Well I have some kart wheels and tires coming. Two wide slicks for just messing around and a smaller slick for the LR when I plan on flat-tracking. Also picked up three additional wheels for my cousin. So I got six wheels and tires for $130 shipped. Here's some pic's:

It looks like you are set for wheels now you just a spare set of hubs and get them turned down for the cart wheels. What did you decide on for an engine?

Well I still haven't decided on an engine yet. Right now I'm looking at a 140cc Pitster Pro or a 125cc Pitster Pro. The 140cc is only $55 more so I'm thinking why not. Only thing I'm concerned with going with the 140cc is making sure it will bolt up okay and I don't have any clearance issues with the carb and gas tank. I'm pretty sure with the 125cc it should be no problem. We'll see but right now I'm leaning towards the 140cc. I've spoke with my cousin and a buddy of mine back in Z-ville and they assured me that the 140cc Pirranha motor would work but the intake has to be notched so that the carb will clear the gas tank. Only thing is I can't find a 140cc Pirranha engine in stock so that's why I'm looking at the Pitster Pro:

The thing about the 70 hubs and turning them down for the kart wheels, I'm not 100% sure I'm following what I need to do. I checked back on one of the earlier posts about this but still not clear. When I turn down the 70 hubs do I keep the current bolt hole location on the hubs or do I re-drill new holes in the 70 hubs to match the kart wheels bolt patteren? I just want someone to clear this up for me.
When you turn the hubs down to fit the cart wheels you remove the stock mounting holes. Then you just drill the new holes to match the cart wheel pattern. When you get the cart wheels it will become perfectly clear.
I just got home from a little night racing out at the flat track on the 70. What a freakin riot!![]()

I just bought this one:

No matter what you bolt on ,if it is not stock Honda you will have some mods to do, Rex Racing and I have done a bunch of these [30 or 40] they just don't bolt up with no mods, some are harder than others, 125s and 140s are not bad if you get above that in cc,s you find [major] problems, intake mods, tank mods, cable mods, hubs , what pipe, what carb, "" jets , ""gearing, you are just getting started, how you ride and what you like [Handling], on and on, diffent motors make the bikes act diffent for the people who ride them
Just a toy basically. I have nobody around me that has 70's also. At least not that I know of.
Here is a 125cc motor I'm considering on getting:

Pretty much the same motor my cousin has in his 70 he build up. Only other thing I was going to do to the engine is add this to give the engine a little more snap:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I'm building my 70 to have something to rip around with when my kids want to ride there dirt bike and 4-wheeler. When I make a trip back up to Z-ville to visit family I'll be bringing my 70 to take to the track for some fun. I'm in the process of getting the frame, forks and a few other parts from the 70 powder coated. I'm in no rush and just want to enjoy the build and do it right.
I've been thinking of a different way to mount the kart wheels to the stock 70 rear hubs. Here is what I'm thinking of doing and wanted to know if anyone has tried this. Might be more work but could work. Take the stock 70 rear hubs and cut down the hubs until you just have the steel tube that has the 24 spline key inside that mounts to the axle. Then take a peice of 1/4 x 1/4 x 1 keystock and weld it to the outside of the steel tube with the 24 spline inside:

Then you can bolt on a rear kart wheel hub that you can then bolt the kart wheel to:

This way you can swap rear wheels depending on if you want to run the kart wheels and tires using the modified rear hub or the stock 70 wheels with knobby tires using the stock 70 rear hub. Just a thought. What do you think? Thanks!
