Tapper, we lost you guys, and weren't sure which direction you headed. Anyway it was an awsesome day. I'm sure i'll be in touch with you about the 350x, it was great to talk to somebody with your knowledge on the 350's, hopefully next time we ride my bike will look as good as yours.

Turtles, next time I head out, I'll give you a call, we'll make a day out of it.

    Smile

(pulled from Xhumeka's sand hill video)

I don't think it matters what your idea of fun is...

...finishing the top half of a sand hill climb in a wheelie _has_ to be fun!

Then again... if you hadn't already seen the video... this is perhaps an "Oh Crap!" moment

Myles that would be great. i have started looking for some thing else. i have a 84 yam 225 dx that has rear suspension but needs complete rear brakes i just use it around here.
But if you just need to test something out. we have about 3 acres for riding and 30-40 for sledding right where we are.

Bit that was some great trails. hats off to you man .

OMG Turtles. You are the only person that I have seen with a winch on a trike. Lookes like you all had a good time. Did the quads felt out of place? Wished my event would have worked.

Some additional footage showing off the trikes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbpEVOy7Txc

And finally, 2.5 hours of helmet-cam footage lol... Probably most of it is rather boring to watch, but I thought I would post it in case anyone was interested:

Awesome Job with the videos B.J!
While watching some your helmet cam vids I noticed that while I was ahead of you I was forgetting to wait at intersections.. You must have a good sense of direction b/c I dont think you went the wrong way even once. Will be sure to stick around more next time.

Is there such a thing as Gan fever? I cant wait to go back.. or out anywhere as a big group again for that matter.

    Xhumeka,

Great videos... Ross and I were having a laugh after looking through the Ganny information on the way home, where it says you're not supposed to go more than 40Km/hour... OOPS!!!!! I was looking for 7th gear... I was certainly going more than 40!

    Thumbs up

    OK... first stab at YouTube:

Part 1 - Riding from the parking lot to the Lookout and back, and some of Sand Hill

Part 2 - To the Falls and back, including a short part of the after-lunch ride

Batteries went dead after this. Hopefully by next time I'll have received a second one to carry with me. Thank Xhumeka for explaining how to edit the videos!

Thanks for the links Mike - the quality of your VHolderHD Helmet cam is amazing!!!

Did anyone use GPS to track our route? I remember someone talking about that, but I can't remember who it was...

If anyone has a GPX (or similar) route file that logged the path we took last Saturday please send it to me - I'd like to overlay it ontop of a map of the Ganny to see exactly where we went during the day - i'll post the image to this thread. You can email it to: xhumeka@hotmail.com

    Thanks!

thanks to Mike for the GPS log... here's the track we took (looks like we covered a good section of the West forest... next time we'll check out the East side!)

The green line is the morning ride, the red is the afternoon. Some of the morning section is covered up by the afternoon route because we rode some of the same trails.

According to the log, we travelled 34.3 km's in the morning, and 31.6 in the afternoon... so that's 65.9 km's in total - not bad!

    Here's Mike's annotations...
