A few years ago, during the winter, my friend and I were riding along the edge of the Mississippi. He was on my Banshee, and I was on my '86 ATC250R. We were going pretty fast, you know, in case the ice was thin. I was sliding past a hump of frozen cattails. Not a full-lock side slide, but just a little sideways. I clipped the frozen chunk of mud at the base of the cattail and it bent my front rim. I didn't flip, but the front tire went instantly flat. When you are on snow/ice, and your front tire is flat on a three wheeler, you cannot steer (in case you didn't know that already).
It was not a fun ride home that's for sure.
