" it just blew a hole in the piston the walls are fine so all you need is a .40 big bore piston and rings and install it i was clocked at 122.7mph when it blew the hole and i was only half way through 5th gear so its craaazy fast with all the mods and big bore kit"

a hole in the piston is a clear sign of detonation, not enough oil would seize the top end. Let me guess, the 40 over piston is the big bore kit, its still probably not a 250cc or just barely over. 122 mph, thats too much, Ever ride a dirtbike 80 mph in the dirt, I have. And its SCARY, add 40 mph to it, I don't see happening.

LOL! That's too funny. What kinda mods is he talking about, a flux capacitor!? The only three wheeler that I've heard to go 100MPH+ is Tracey Dickson's Husqvarna. Anybody who says otherwise is simply exaggerating.
    Rides I own:
    '85 200X(old smokey)
'81 ATC250R(Bassani pipe, Wiseco piston, Vesrah rod, and AMS offset rims)
    '84 KXT250 Red(the new money pit!)
'96 KX125(FMF pipe, Boyesen reeds, One Industries graphic kit, etc.)
'85 KX125(vintage racer. Technically it was a practice bike)
    '78 DT400(the lone Yamaha)

Dunno if I'm 100% on my info, but having fun none-the-less.

    ME:
Lol if by 122MPH you mean 70, then I believe you. There's only one three wheeler in the country that I've heard of going over 100, and that was a trike in Florida.

You have a stock trike with a .040 over piston which adds no extra power... stock bikes do around 70.
    HIM:

kool thanks for the info! I thought that more horse power ment faster and thats crazy i wonder why people buy exhaust and reeds and big bore kits if it goes the same speed and all man people are dumb. Im glad you emailed me from now on ill save my money and just build stock bikes since add ons wont make it faster. You know im wondering how that guy made his drag bike go faster OH he must of had like an 1100cc STOCK motor in it LOL!
    ME:

Reeds don't make you faster, they simply compliment the other mods (if you had any) to get the proper air/fuel. http://www.geocities.com/redrd400/rd/reeds.html

You don't have a big bore kit. Big bore kits come with a larger cylinder and raise your cc's. You are simply overbored, and that doesn't increase the cc's.

You have a stock bike. Stock Tri-Z's go 70MPH. Whoever clocked you was either a moron, had improperly calibrated equipment, or it never really happened.

lol i had a buddy that told me his predator did 120 mph, because he had a buddy race him down the road in his el camino..

The only way this is possible is Tall gear up front and a small gear in the back and MAYBE? although you would need some space to stretch its legs.

but if it truly runs with a piston, i say someone go get a .40 over piston and go check it out $800 bucks ain't bad imo

Should have told him that 40hp with 13/42 gearing will have the same top speed as 100hp with 13/42 gearing, but you'll wheelie all the way to your 70mph barrier

255cc rather than 247cc or so which is stock...it's only a 1 mm overbore. doesn't increase much on when you only have a 68mm bore to begin with.

    however...

    take the 350x for example

stock stroke of 68mm....stock bore of 81mm

when you bump it up to an 83mm...you also bump it up to 270cc. not a bad gain considering.

Raising your max rpm will ALWAYS raise your top speed...all other things constant, doing mods which will raise your peak rpm will raise your top speed.

Having said that...he DID not break 100...with stock gearing I'd also be willing to bet he did not break 85.

There ARE exceptions to some rules...

For example, schmee's rebuilt 83 300r with stock gearing...on 20 inch tires (geared lower than stock) with his sectional pipe, portwork, and larger carb has been clocked by ME at 75+ mph on multiple occasions. I've seen it at 77... and that's with a slight bend to the axle. I think with a perfectly straight axle, the bike can touch 80, the wobble inhibits the tire from expanding. Those speeds were clocked with my car...AND gps, they are accurate.

I always like to say "122 MPH? Yeah, off a cliff with a tailwind".

There was some kid with ludicrous 100+ MPH claims on craigslist when selling a 1985 LT250R. And he did not give a sheet what I said about his fantasy ad.

Of course the quad was so fast it blew up too. Always love to point out the fact it runs at 0.0mph now.

But don't you wonder how many people buy into this alternate reality?
