well a 500 twin is overweight think abotu a moden 450 thumper or a 500 2 stroke like a kx or cr 500 is a good start also.

Well the theory always was that a 500 2 cylinder was quicker than a 500 single. That is why they had v-12 jaguars and such, less rotating mass equaled faster revving. Or at least that's how the theory was supposed to go.

well, honda has a CX500 twin, but those old 500's only have around 50 horse.....if you want twin cylinder, go for snowmobile 2 stroke, otherwise, a CR500 ir KX500 would be your best friend.
Here is a custom built one. It would be insane in a trike, two cr500 cylinders.

I think allot of people overlook the added weight of some of these conversions. Unfortunately, most of them are done very poorly and are nearly useless for anything but dragging.
The CR500 and all these newer performance thumper motors are the way to go IMHO. I think some guys just see an old CB streetbike motor, a broken trike and and just start cutting and welding
