i would make it at least 7 and at most 9 layers but make sure you do this use the kind of flakey or unweaved fiberglass a couple of layers then put a weaved type in the middle for strength even if you went a few more that wouldnt hurt ither say you did 10 and put 2 layers of weaved that would make a good fender

lol no problem with the quick response im at work on the computer so this is all i have to do other then take calls for people with problems with their cable, internet and telephone.....i work at cox communications.....but i have done some fiberglas work before. and i remember seeing someone use it when doing a fiberglass headliner so the fiberglass wouldnt stick to the metal.. so i dont think it will stick to the fiberglass but even if it does you have to sand it so it will come off anyways. the main thing for the foil is to keep it sticking to the plastic and thats it. so even if it sticks it will be ok. just sand it off.

fiber glass will stick to almost anything if the surface is right, if its smooth bust out a wire brush or some like 80 grid sand paper. scuff the crap out of it make it all tore up looking.. use a paint brush and saturate with just the mix, 1% hardener. is the strongest with the no name glass i use. takes 20 mins or so with a hair dryer to get it to dry enough to work with. after you saturate with glass, lay down some long stranded fiber glass, make sure the fibers hug the shape of your object 100% to ensure strength.. gaps and bubbles will weaken it terribly. the weave is a good way to go.. it flexes alot more before cracking, and holds up alot better overall with a layer or 2 of weave. id say 6 layers total, 2 weave 3 long fiber, or 1 weave 5 layers fiber. but after you place your last layer of fiber you will need to build up a top coat of just class.. so apply some glass.. wait how ever minutes you need to for it to somewhat cure, its going to be depending on how hot it is. and apply about 5 more glass coats so you can sand down some without hitting fibers right away. that will be as strong if not stronger then the plastic fenders.
Looking for some smaller style tires like the r's have, just 2 back tires. pm please.

I am speaking up for those of us (and I know I'm not alone, only dumb enough to open my mouth) who have been in this hobby for a number of years and spent alot of time and money building a machine to be proud of. Then you look at some of the heaps on here, and the only reason these people have trikes is because they couldn't afford a quad. In my eyes these people are not true enthusiasts, only a product of their financial situation or just plain bad luck. I have been into trikes since I was a wee lad and have always taken good care of my machines. It killed me growing up when you see that guy pull up on the 200s turd with no pullstart, no brakes, and fenders? Who needs fenders? When I tell people I have three wheelers, I know this is what they are picturing and it's embarassing. I have to explain what I have and how I'm not just some chump who can't afford a quad. Don't expect a reply from me again and go do your homework.

Chri**almighty you really have a superiority complex don't you? So to you riding trikes is about looking good and showing off your shiny bits, well more power to you for being able to afford the trinkets you so dearly love. Just don't jump on the backs of people who are indeed true enthusiasts but unfortunately don't have the financial reserve to have an all singing, all dancing, showboating toy.

In my eyes the folk who ride the old beaters & have a$$es like you ing them for running what they can afford, simply for the pleasure of being able to ride at all, are the ones who are the real enthusiasts. The reasoning behind this point of view being that these people (myself included if you haven't guessed!) don't have to worry about what their toys look like or what fancy hop-up bits they bolted on with this weeks paycheck, they are simply concerned with how much riding they can eke out of the petrol they can afford & how long that gearbox/tyre/chain will last before they have to break the bank to get back out there & be ridiculed yet again by elitist pigs like yourself. You sir are a true disservice to the world of trikes.

Apologies for dragging this trash up again but people like this really boil my pi55.

There is a guy named Ric from ATCHeaven.com that makes replacement fenders in fiberglass that are killer in quality and strength - I highly recommend!
