    Example of detnation

    I thought I would post this picture of a piston with an extreme case of detnation. This topic always seems to come up on this board. This piston is not from a trike, it is from a G342 Caterpillar natural gas engine. Detnation is caused from using to low of octane gas and from bad timing, there maybe other causes but this is what I run into all the time.
