    350x question

    I need the inner case diameter AROUND the sleeve of the engine. Anyone can hook me up?

    Just curious in mm how large the hole is. I think it's around 89mm...but I'm really not sure.

    I have an '86 bottom end laying at the house. I'll check back in when I get home and shoot you some measurements if nobody else beats me to it.

    Cade, the 350X lower case bore hole diameter (and it isn't a perfect round hole either) appears to measure 94MM ID.

    right, and the sleeve is not ment to touch this area....as long as the case hole is larger then the sleeve your good.

    so 94 mm....

    just out of curiousity, how far can the cases be bored out?

    OD of a xr500 fits no problem...lol

    so is the xr500 basegasket extended beyond the flat portion, just kinda hanging out?

    can't say I'd agree with that....

    you always use the 350x base gasket

    oh yeah that's right...500 sleeve in a 350x... and you dremel the basegasket out.

    got one for you swigin...lets say you have a custom xr500 piston that you could modify in any way shape or form you saw fit. you wouldn't have to do the mods to the crank then would ya?

    still tinkering with cp pistons...and a 500 sleeve with a 350x style piston only larger is a real possibility.

    well, moving the pin would only save shrinking the rod on non stroked motors.

    and you don't want the pin interfering with the oil ring either so keep that in mind.

    and as far as larger goes, i have a 92 or 95mm custom arise piston out in my garage for a 350x ....lol

    i must be around to many big motors or something because i just measured a stock sleeve and it's OD is like 87mm.

    my xr500 sleeve is 97mm....this fits no problem into the cases with proper clearanceing.

    but the lip at the lip at the top of the sleeve is CLOSE to the top end studs and even needs to be notched for 1 head dowl.
