Cam Chain Help!!

After my ATC70 top end rebuild, the only problem I have now is a very noisy cam chain. I did notice there were NO adjustments and according to Honda manual, there should be. I pulled the tension spring bolt underneath and there's nothing but the spring. Any ideas on how to take the slack out ?

I'm just gonna throw this out there because your waiting on help:

But, many of the thumpers have a lever and spring behind the flywheel for the cam chain.

Although, with the ATC70, I'm not sure if it's on that side? I yanked my flywheel to change points and condensor and it doesn't come to my immediate mind that I saw that chain adjust crap??

Which side does the manual say it's on?? Sometimes the locking crap gets bound and you have to lift it with a screwdriver etc etc.

There should be an adjuster by the gear shifter.

Thanks for responding, Dirtcrasher. The manual shows an adjuster near the gear shift on the left side, the hole going into the spring is there with nothing but a regular 10mm bolt in the hole. The spring bolt hole is underneath that the manual shows an addition adjustment and the threads are in the hole but no rod or adjusting screw. Maybe, because this manual covers 70cc to 125cc, this model just doesn't have an adjustment and the chain is just stretched out. I hope that's not the case since this is my first top end build and I'm doing it for a friend, who is funding it. The chain was very tight going on the sprocket when I installed it. I had to pull/pry the sprocket over the cam end.

Does anyone have a suggestion here besides replacing the chain ? I see no way to replace it without taking it all the way back down to the crankcase. Any help would be appreciated !

One other question. Should the tensioner push rod fall out behind the spring when it's being removed ? If not, how does it come out ?
