Possible solution for 86-87 Tecate tanks?

Hey guys, I am working on a Tecate project and much like all the tecate owners our gas tanks suck! They dont match color wise to current plastic colors and you cant paint them and have them turn out nice. So I have been doing some research and might go ahead with a few ideas. I was looking for a another tank off a common dirt bike with the back bone like our tecates. Most common I found is like 96-01 YZ125,250 tanks. If they can be moded or make some brakets for them to fit right it might not look bad. You can order a new tank from Clarke or IMS and you can get it black and run updated yz green shrouds! Or I know IMS can make you any tank that they carry any color. Also Maier can do the shrouds as they too will do any color.

let me know what you guys think, I am going to try to get my hands on a few different tanks to see if this will work

Also I know that the yz tanks seat placement is an issue but was also toying around with the idea of going with a yfz450 seat and rear fender combo but we'll see what I come up with.
