Hello my name is nick and i just bought a 1983 YTM200K for 800 bucks. I know it sounds a little steep but this thing is in mint shape!. Im working on it every day to make it more and more like showroom condition. There was a little ticking noise in the motor when i got it so i just adjusted the timing chain and now she purrs like a kitten. The only thing is, first when i bought the YTM, i started it up before i bought it and it started revving high, and the guy i bought it off of said, " i just put a new throttle cable on it last year, it revvs high but it will go down after a while." so i figured, either the cable is too tight, or just the idling screw needs to be adjusted. So i brought it home, checked out the cable, it was a bit tight but i loosened it enough to have a little bit of play in the throttle, but it was still the same thing. I then tried idling the bike down and it idled down perfectly. So i just gave it a couple shots of gas like you would, and it seems that the bike idles perfect until about half thorttle. When i get just before half throttle just by revving it up in neutral, all it wants to do is revv right up again. so i then idle it back down to where i want it, give it another few shots of gas, and when i get to half throttle again, it wants to idle back up again, and i quickly shut the bike off in fear of blwing the motor. I can go all day doing this and it doesnt make any difference. I took then carb apart and soaked all the parts without rubber gaskets and o-rings in carb cleaner, put it all back together and the exact same thing was still happening. when i took the carb apart i blew through all of the jets to make sure they were free of debris as well. the only thing i can think of now is that the float is sticking. it doesnt stick when i have the bowl off of the carb, but god knows what it does when i put the bowl back on. Another thing is, there was no choke lever on the bike, so i just tried plying on the cable to see if the choke worked but it was seized. I unscrewed the choke cable down at the carburetor, and the thing was seized inside the choke throat. I sprayed some WD40 down in the choke hole and it came free. but it was rusty and cannot be used anymore. I dont know if someonething stuck open down in the choke throat when i pulled the choke out or not. I dont really know how those chokes work with the plungers on them, so i could be totaly wrong. If someone could tell me their email address or send me an email with some information at nicktucker_yz450f@hotmail.com or at TriMoto200_1983@yahoo.com, it would be greatly apreciated. even add me on msn messenger or yahoo messenger if you like. this bike is like mint and i want to get it idling perfect to make it one step closer to mint condition. If anyone know where to get a new choke cable or carburetor or has oneof the 2 themselves that they would like to sell me, please let me know. Thanks

Nick
