Anyone here that can split cases and reasemble them?

My cases on my 85 T3 are in bad shape. I bought some good ones. I don't have any experience in opening cases and i'm not confident in my work to reassemble it properly. I opend the old cases to get a look of what things look like but I don't think I have it in me to put things back in order again. What I need is I have a bottom half of an engine, that needs to be opened and the transmission and etc needs to be transferred to the new cases. I haven't opened the cases that has the part I'll be using so it is basically virgin material. Does anyone do this around here? Shops are hard to find around here and threw the roof with expenses. Any idea what someone would charge for this job?

I have done a few ( 30-40 ) motor splits. If you were close I would have you bring it out and I would show you how and work with you to do it. Shop fee is $20 a hour, depending on how far you have it taken apart, it may only take a hour or 2.

20 an hour is SUPER CHEAP. Howdy, your a great guy too. But Hoosier, one proper way to get it done would be to follow the manual. Dont skip one single part, and follow all directions, and you will find it was not as hard as you thought it would be. Have complete trust in yourself, and you can do it! I went to college for powersprts, and that is what they taught me. I felt the same way as you, but you can only learn to become better through experience. Give it a shot, and dont doubt yourself. Keep everything organized and in order, and you will do A OKAY. Whatever you decide, good luck!!
